EMS Subscription
An EMS Subscription is a voluntary annual membership that helps protect Upper Makefield residents from unexpected out-of-pocket costs if ambulance services are needed.
​
When you call 911 and require emergency medical transportation, your insurance may not cover the full cost of the service. An EMS Subscription helps provide protection from eligible remaining balances, offering added financial security and peace of mind for you and your family.
​
By participating in the EMS Subscription program, you are also helping support the emergency medical services that help keep our community safe and prepared.
Our Story
Since 1952, the Newtown Ambulance Squad has proudly served our community with a team of dedicated volunteer and career paramedics and emergency medical technicians. In 2023 we started operating our Upper Makefield sub-station located in the Upper Makefield Fire Department building.
It is the mission of Newtown EMS to provide skilled and caring pre-hospital care to the victims of illness and injury to all in our community. It is our mission to provide our service through collaboration and cooperation with other local, regional, and Statewide agencies and continuously improve upon the service we provide. Newtown EMS personnel will respond with urgency, empathy, and proficiency to care for our residents and visitors keeping the patient at the center of everything we do.​

The Newtown Ambulance Squad is guided by a dedicated leadership team whose collective experience, advanced training, and unwavering commitment to the community form the backbone of our organization.

Our six officers and supervisors bring decades of combined service to their roles, each holding certifications across the full spectrum of emergency medical care. Their qualifications reflect not only the high standards we hold as a squad, but the trust our community places in us every time we respond to a call.

Our Current Equipment
Providing exceptional emergency medical care begins with having the right equipment. Our emergency medical services team maintains a modern fleet of Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances, specialized response vehicles, and advanced medical technology to ensure clinicians are prepared for every emergency.

Our ambulances are equipped with lifesaving tools, including advanced cardiac monitors, airway equipment, emergency medications, and trauma supplies - helping paramedics and EMTs deliver high-quality care when Upper Makefield residents need it most.

We continually invest in our vehicles and equipment to provide safe, reliable, and compassionate emergency medical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
