Newtown EMS Subscription
Newtown EMS is a Non-Profit 501 ( c ) 3 organization. Newtown EMS is funded from multiple sources to make up our annual budget: Property Tax revenue through an EMS milage (Newtown Township and Newtown Borough), and under a contracted service agreement with Upper Makefield Township under the terms of that agreement. Municipal funding only comprises 38% of our revenue. We heavily rely on fees from service provided by payments from Commercial Medical Insurance Companies, Auto Insurance Companies, Medicare and Medicaid, and co-pays and deductibles owed by patients for service provided. We also generate fund raising revenue from our annual subscription drive and those residents who voluntarily donate above and beyond our subscription rate.
Monday through Friday, Newtown EMSĀ staffs 1 ambulance 24/7, and on select Mondays through Thursday a back-up unit is staffed with variable daytime hours. Our Upper Makefield Station is staffed with one ambulance 24/7. During severe weather such as a snow-storm, we may staff additional crews based on need and conditions.
If you are a subscriber, and received a bill, contact our billing company and inform them you are a member. They will contact us to verify membership and your balance will be cancelled. We do provide the membership list to our billing service, however updates are constant and occasionally there is a gap between updates when invoices are mailed.
